The audit methology of optical networks
Štěpán, Petr ; Münster, Petr (referee) ; Reichert, Pavel (advisor)
This work deals with summary of optical system audit in the terms of all layer of the reference model ISO/OSI. Introduction of the work focuses on exploring issues of management networks control, the description of ISO/OSI model and explanation of the terms QoS and SLAs. The description of the optical fiber transmission follows after that. The characteristics of the waveguide and optical communication system components with regard to its reliable operation and management are analyzed. Some major types of optical networks are described. Following section contains a description of methods used in the audit, further the methods for measuring physical, connection and network layer of the reference model are discussed more thoroughly. The work also contains a partial analysis of the audit of the physical layer of the selected section of the Brno academic network optical line. Of all these methods for networks control the final audit report for the optical network with selected limits is compiled as a conclusion of the work.
Quality of services and experience qualify for next generation networks
Vaněk, Jiří ; Horváth, Tomáš (referee) ; Grenar, David (advisor)
The thesis sums up the traffic parameters for the evaluation of next-generation access networks. There are mentioned parameters for service quality management and parameters for measuring the quality of experience. The EU regulation on High Speed Internet in the Czech Republic is analyzed. The practical part compares the results between the implementation of the quality management of services and without implementation. Also there is comparing theoretical and practical transmission rates of physical ports. Part of the thesis is a questionnaire focused on the quality of experience of the video sequence.
Wavelength selective switching
Sikora, Vojtěch ; Kočí, Lukáš (referee) ; Münster, Petr (advisor)
Optical circuits switching is a rapidly growing area of photonic networks. With increasing requirements of photonic services only software defined networking allows flexible and effective networks creation. This bachelor thesis introduces technologies of optical circuits switching, especially wavelength selective switching node as reconfigurable optical add drop multiplexer used in wavelength division multiplexing networks. Using specialized software VPIphotonics the WSS 1x4 and ROADM for an interconnection between Prague, Brno, Ostrava and Vienna was designed.
Visualization communication between OLT and ONU units in NG-PON2 networks.
Ilgner, Petr ; Jurčík, Michal (referee) ; Horváth, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is concerned with passive optical networks, which provide solutions of access networks and have sufficient capacity for data-intensive services. The introductory section compares technologies of access networks and evaluates their qualities and usability. The following part focuses concretely on passive optical networks and their hardware. The next section introduces the passive optical network - NG-PON2 standard. The characteristics and principles of establishing a connection between subscriber unit and provider network interface. Further, there is description of the data structures in the network, service messages system and network security options. Special attention is paid to individual operating systems in the network. The practical part represents a design and implementation of visualization software, which displays the data communication between the units of the network.
Design of The Data Communication Between Digital Protection Relays and Monitoring System of Dukovany Nuclear Power Plant
Šula, Vladimír ; Topolánek, David (referee) ; Toman, Petr (advisor)
This thesis describes the provision of the data communication of the new protection relays via 6 kV switch gears to the electro monitoring system at the Dukovany Nuclear Power Station. These protection relays will replace the current analog protection. The replacement process will start in 2015 and will finish in 2018. Given the overall complexity of the project, this thesis deals only with the following 6 kV switch gears 9BB and 9BD. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part concerns the actual consumption and output of the Dukovany Nuclear Power Station. The following chapters describe the electro monitoring system and GRAF and LOGA software programs that are closely connected with it and that were used in the practical part. The last chapter of the theoretical part deals with the actual replacement of the protection relays of the 6 kV switch gears. Also, it describes a new optical network, which will be set up at the Dukovany Nuclear Power Station as a part of the process of replacement. The segment of the practical part concerns laboratory verification of the data communication of the new protection relays. Next, it describes actions that had to be taken in order to ensure and verify correct functionality of the data communication. This part is followed up by a closely related practical activity, which describes examination and verification of the protection functions of each of the 9BB and 9BD switch gears protection relays.
Creation of new laboratory exercises explaining the principles of measurement of optical fibre networks
Havlíček, Filip ; Dejdar, Petr (referee) ; Münster, Petr (advisor)
The aim of bachelor thesis is the design of two laboratory exercises for measuring the parameters of optical networks. The teoretical part deal with the basics of optics, optical fibers, optical connectors and standards according to ITU-T. Furthermore, the individual parameters of optical fibers and methods for their measurement are analyzed. In practical part there are proposals of two laboratory exercises for measuring attenuation, chromatic dispersion and polarization mode dispersion.
Laboratory exercise: Modeling of photonic communication networks
Kovaříková, Hana ; Horváth, Tomáš (referee) ; Münster, Petr (advisor)
The bachelor’s thesis deals with the issue of modern high-speed data networks and their simulation in the MATLAB Simulink environment. The theoretical part is devoted to optical networks, fibers, their properties and standards. The thesis also explains the subject of passive and active optical networks, including their components. Laboratory tasks are devoted to the simulation of the transmission of a passive optical network with a splitter and an active optical network with an amplifier.
